Cosmetic Dentistry
Designed around you
Cosmetic care at Sunstone is planned around your own teeth and face, with the aim of a natural-looking result. We explain the options in plain language and keep healthy tooth structure wherever we can — for patients across Katy, Richmond, and Fulshear.
Are you a good candidate?
These are common reasons people ask about cosmetic dentistry. Each one opens the matching treatment below.
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Chipped, worn, or uneven teeth
- Gaps or spacing
- Mild crowding or misalignment
- Want to improve your overall smile
An examination is how we decide what is appropriate — not a photo or a checklist.
Cosmetic treatments we offer
Veneers, whitening, aligners, and related care, planned as part of the rest of your dentistry rather than as a separate cosmetic menu.
Porcelain & no-prep veneers
Veneers are thin restorations bonded to the front of teeth to change color, shape, or small chips. They are planned after looking at the tooth, the bite, and how much enamel can reasonably be preserved.
Porcelain veneers are one option. When a tooth is a good candidate, a no-prep approach may be possible, which means less enamel is reduced. That is a clinical judgment, not a default.
Same-day crowns, bridges & onlays
When a tooth needs a crown, a bridge, or an onlay, some of that work can be designed and made here rather than sent out to a laboratory. Milling and 3D printing on site mean some treatment can be completed without a long wait between appointments — when the case allows.
A same-day visit is not always the right path. We’ll explain whether it is, and what the alternative would be.

Planned around your smile
Cosmetic treatment is planned before anything is started. A digital scan can replace impression material for many procedures, and restorations can be designed and reviewed so you can see the direction of the plan while you are still in the chair.
The aim is a result that fits your face and your remaining tooth structure — not a template smile. If a filling, a crown, or simply leaving a tooth alone is the better first step, we’ll say so.
Laser gum treatment
A dental laser can reshape excess gum tissue to balance a gummy or uneven smile, and may also be used as part of periodontal care. Whether contouring, crown lengthening, or gum-health treatment belongs in your plan depends on an examination.
We’ll explain what we find, how laser treatment would fit with the rest of your smile plan, and what the alternatives are.
Professional teeth whitening
Professional teeth whitening is a supervised way to lighten stained or discolored natural teeth. It is planned after we look at the enamel and at any existing restorations, because whitening does not change the color of crowns, veneers, or most fillings.
We’ll talk through whether whitening is the right first step, or whether something else — a cleaning, a restoration, or leaving well enough alone — would serve you better.
White spot treatment
White spots on enamel can have different causes, including how the tooth formed or early demineralization later on. Treatment depends on what we find, not on a single product or protocol.
We’ll examine the spots, explain the likely cause, and go through the options that fit — which may include resin infiltration for selected cases, remineralizing care, or a restorative approach if the enamel needs it.
Clear aligners for adults
Clear aligners are a removable way to address mild crowding, spacing, or small alignment concerns in adults. They sit over the teeth and are taken out for eating and cleaning.
They are not the right tool for every bite. After an examination, we’ll say whether aligners are a reasonable option, or whether another approach — or no movement at all — makes more sense.
How cosmetic care is planned here
-
Personalized planning
You see the same dentist each visit. The plan is built around your teeth, your bite, and what you actually want to change.
-
Natural-looking results
Shade, shape, and proportion are matched to the rest of your mouth. The aim is a result that looks like your smile, not a template.
-
Tooth preservation
Healthy enamel is kept wherever it can be. If a smaller restoration, or no treatment, is the better option, we’ll say so.
Common Questions About Cosmetic Dentistry
How much does cosmetic dentistry cost?
There is no single cosmetic dentistry price because whitening, aligners, veneers, and gum treatment are very different procedures. After we understand what you would like to change, we can show you the reasonable options and provide a written estimate before you decide.
What is the difference between a dentist and a cosmetic dentist?
A cosmetic dentist is still a dentist. “Cosmetic dentistry” describes a focus on treatments that improve the appearance of the teeth and smile; it is not a separate dental specialty in the same way orthodontics or oral surgery is. Dr. Wei provides both general and cosmetic dentistry, so we can consider appearance together with your bite, tooth structure, and long-term dental health.
How do I choose a good cosmetic dentist?
Look for someone who takes time to understand what you actually want to change, shows you realistic options, and considers your teeth, gums, bite, and existing dental work before recommending treatment. For larger cosmetic cases, photos, digital scans, and a preview or mock-up can also make the planning process much clearer.
What is the best cosmetic dental treatment for my smile?
It depends on what you want to change. Whitening is mainly about color, clear aligners move teeth, veneers can change shape, proportion, and color, and gum contouring can change how the teeth are framed. Sometimes the most conservative option is enough. We start with the concern you actually have and work backward from there.
What makes a smile look natural and attractive?
There is no single “perfect” smile. A natural-looking smile usually comes from balance between tooth shape, proportion, color, alignment, gumline, and the person’s own facial features. We generally prefer changes that still look like your teeth rather than making every smile follow the same template.
